1. City of Darkness Revisited, by Ian Lambot Greg Girard.

This is perhaps the most definitive work about the Kowloon Walled City. Ian and Greg took lots of pictures in the 80s and recorded stories of the residents.

2. Chasing the Dragon: One Woman’s Struggle Against the Darkness of Hong Kong’s Drug Dens, by Jackie Pullinger and Andrew Quicke

Jackie Pullinger worked extensively inside the Kowloon Walled City with gang members, prostitutes, and drug dealers. Through her Christian work, many people have left their former life in the “den of evil” and become faithful Christian serving others.
